Lately i have been receiving this error on msn when ever i try to contact someone on the list or someone try to contact me : The following message could not be delivered to all recipients ,it’s an annoying problem since you can’t have a normal discussion with your contact list .

I made some search and found that I’m not the only one … and even you (reader) are probably here because you have the same problem .

The Reason for the MSN ERROR mentioned is related to WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER .

The Weird thing is that sometime you can’t send a pm to a member but you can send a handwritten message .

Some people mentioned that this could be caused by a drop in the connection between microsoft server and your pc but i dont think so , the message The following message could not be delivered to all recipients is received by a lot of people .

MSN support team said to uninsall the msn and install it again , sometime this method works for a while , but it will mess up again and you will receive the msn error message again : The following message could not be delivered to all recipients

on microsoft site they mentioned a way to solve this , but i dont even have Live Communications Server 2005 Enterprise Edition .

1. On the client computer that is running Windows Messenger, click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
2. Type ipconfig /flushdns, and then press ENTER.
3. Type ipconfig /registerdns, and then press ENTER.

after that no idea what they were talking about …

but i tested the first 3 steps and it seem to be working now , i can receive pm’s .

If you know any solution let me know ;) , feel free to share it !

The following message could not be delivered to all recipients

  1. oh my god, thankyou so so so so much.
i’m so relieved. you saved my internet life :3

  2. i’m getting so annoyed my msn just keeps coming up as
“The following message could not be delivered to all recipients:”
its So Annoying i’ve tried EVERYTHING! its not working!!!
I’m seriosuly at my witts end!

  3. i tried all of these stuff, it only worked with the ebuddy lite msn stuff. i dont have any other solution. my msn version is 8.5, i have installed msn plus too.this happened with another account of mine another time, but i didnt use t for a long period of time and with that account the problem disappeared itself. nothin works! does anyone have other suggestions?

  4. But, I have a tablet pc and I want to draw and use the typing tool at the same time. ;___;’

  5. This has been repeatedly happening to me on MSN for about a week, now. Your solution didn’t work. :[

  6. That is excecllent the above steps help me to resolve the issue.
    Great going bro.
    Hats off to you.

  7. thanks a bunch..handwriting worked

  8. none of that stuff is working for me…ive reinstalled it and did the cmd stuff and nothing works D:

  9. it’s so frustrating. I’ve disabled the handwriting and nothing is happening. I uninstalled and reinstalled windows live messenger and it worked for a week or so and now its doing the same thing! UGH

  10. just try getting some patches.. get wlm plus, install stuffplug, patch ur msn with WLM Universal Patcher… bla bla
many solutions.. get scripts, remove scripts.. just TRY things…m

  11. i spoke withe a buddy of mine who works for microsoft production and he advised its has also something to do with messenger loading initially when windows launches. Signout completely and exit entirely messenger from running on your pc then relaunch – presto it works.

  12. control panel > programes > msn > repair

Worked for me, hope it ll work 4 you guys aswell…

  13. c’est bien se sit

  14. To Tjay (#52): THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

I have tried all the other suggestions (disable hand writing, uninstall/reinstall…), NONE of them work.

    Only Tjay’s method WORKS:
control panel > programes > msn > repair

    It works for me!

  15. just appear offline, and then appear online again,
    worked for me :)

  16. Of course the handwriting tab stuff doesn’t work…

Forget this MS crap and use another live message softwares. There are tons for free out there and without the usual MS softwares issues… Yes, MS means Maximum shit…

BB by the way, I don’ t know if it’s only with the latest version of live messneger but it doesn’t even appaer in the list when you go to control panel > programes…

  17. I’ve tried to disable the handwriting thing but it didn’t change anything.

The only solution I found to be able to communicate with my contacts was to install Pidgin and forget about live messenger. There is nothing you can do to fix this apparently, it’s just another annoying MS bug that won’t be fix until a new version is released… You restart msn, it work for 30 seconds then stop delivering messages again…

Tjay’s, I’ve also tried your method but I could find messenger in the list of programs… Any idea???

  18. Hi! I was surfing and found your blog post… nice! I love your blog. :) Cheers! Sandra. R.

  19. Wow, this actually worked! Thank you. Can’t believe it
